Technical Writing and Documentation Leadership

Eliza manages documentation from planning and subject matter expert interviews through editorial review, publication, and maintenance. She works with Product, Engineering, QA, and other teams to establish priorities, clarify product behavior, and keep guidance useful as software changes.

Her experience includes enterprise software, risk and incident management products, and localized QuickBooks Online content. She has reviewed and delegated work to junior writers, developed style guidance, and worked with Confluence, Jira, MadCap Flare, DITA/XML, and HTML/CSS.

Knowledge Management

Eliza brings experience with content audits, analytics, migrations, tool selection, and Confluence administration. She has designed a customer knowledge base using Viewport and managed content across Word, PDF, and HTML. She considers how people find information, how related content connects, and how teams maintain it after publication.

Working with AI

Eliza experiments with AI agents and documentation workflows, including Rovo, Glean, and Copilot, and has contributed as an AI Champion and hackathon team lead. Her approach pairs AI-assisted production with human review: setting the direction, evaluating the output, and correcting gaps in clarity, structure, and applicability.

Her Direction of This Project

Eliza supplied examples of guides she had already authored to establish the language styling, formatting, and layout for Northstar Cloud. She then directed changes to the generated material: release notes focused on product changes, navigation ordered by user impact, clearer support routes, readable procedures, consistent headings, and screenshots that accurately demonstrate the result.

The Editorial Decision Record documents those choices and their rationale. AI assisted with the fictional product, drafting, illustrations, and implementation. For a real product, Eliza would also validate technical details with subject matter experts and test procedures against the application.

What She Brings to a Team

Eliza combines hands-on writing with responsibility for the documentation system around it. She can turn complex product information into usable guidance, organize a knowledge base around reader needs, coordinate reviews across teams, and evaluate where AI can support a workflow while keeping editorial ownership clear.

Education and Further Work

Eliza holds a Bachelor of Applied Communications in Professional Writing from MacEwan University, where she received the Dean’s Medal, and has completed web technology coursework at BCIT.
